Wish Big Gift Box

This CASE came for the absolute best place to CASE from, the Idea Book and Catalog.  This box came from page 112 of the 2009-2010 Catalog.  There are two ways you can make the actual box.  If you have the Big Shot you can use the Stampin' Up! Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die.  When I needed this box I didnt have the die yet and I needed them right away so I used this template.  I printed the template out on Naturals Ivory Cardstock and then cut them out by hand.  I did not use the handle and I ended up cutting about an extra 1" to 1-1/2" off the top of the box.  From there the rest was simple.  From this picture it is hard to tell but the Wish Big is stamped on a Word Window and then one end is trimmed of its circle edge.  This treat boxes make great favors or small gifts and are great to have around!

Itty Bitty Bits Everywhere

Another beautiful CASE from another great site.  This Case came from Stacia Sloma.  I absolutely loved the colors and the elegance of the card.  I had to have one for myself.  Mom, if your reading this, STOP, as this is your birthday card :)

I just love how she used the Itty Bitty Bits as flower additions to great a beautiful dimensional plant.  Just awesome.  I love a clean elegant card and this definitely fits the bill.  I thought about coloring in the leaves with maybe a blender pen and Old Olive ink.  What do you think?  I would also love to see how you might change this up.  Let me know!

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Embrace Life, Itty Bitty Bits, Watercolor Trio
Card Stock - Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink - Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry
Accessories - Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pak, Mini Glue Dots, 1/4" Black Gingham Ribbon

Toile and Pretties

As you know I had a little break from my stamping while I was dealing with life.  I am not back to stamping but the original ideas are slow to come.  So for a little while I am going to introduce you to some blogs I follow with some beautiful cards I just had to case!

This first card is a case of a case that I found on Sue Farrant's blog.  I love her blog.  She has great talent and is fun!  I saw this and I knew that I needed to make it for others and for you to see, just gorgeous!

The technique is called Toile.  I just recently learned that Toile is a fabric that is White or Cream and has a single color flower design on it.  Susan used her Pretties Kit to add an amazing elegant touch to it.  Just to die for.  The stamp set Elements of Style is just a fantastic set in the new mini catalog, a must have.  If you remember I also used it to create a Scrapbook Booklet

Card details:  I used a lot of Demensional because I love things to pop.  The inner flower design, the For You circle, and the humming bird are all popped with Dimensionals.  As Susan shows, this card can be done in almost any color and look beautiful!

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Elements of Style
Card Stock - Real Red, Whisper White
Ink - Real Red
Accessories - 5/8" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Pretties Kit, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Paper Snips

Cute Quails

Hello again.  I apologize for my long absence.  Since my trip to Ohio and my grandfather passing I have had a difficult time getting into the creative mood lately.  But I am back and promise to you to get back to a regular schedule of posting!  I had a Stamp-A-Stack yesterday and I had so much fun!  Nothing like getting together with my girls to make me want to stamp again.

This card I created a little while back for my husband to send as thank you cards from his birthday.  I got the idea from page 72 of the catalog.  It is a 4"x4" card.  The green hills are just torn and then distressed.  I used dimensionals to pop up the Quails.  It came out very cute!

I created the envelope using matching paper and stamped on the envelope.  To remember how to create envelopes for this typed of card go to this tutorial.

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Short & Sweet, Happy Together
Card Stock - Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Whisper White
Ink - Chocolate Chip
Accessories - 1/4" Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon, Paper Snips, Dimensionals

My Husband's Birthday

My husband's birthday was a week ago last Sunday.  We had planned a whole birthday weekend with his parents coming to visit and everything and then I ended up flying to Ohio.  I owe him a birthday weekend.  I plan on making it up to him.

I still gave him his gifts and his card.  I had some fun with his card.  I found the template for the card here.  I colored the stamp with markers to reflect the colors I wanted.  I colored the flowers in with watercolor pencils and then used a blender pen to make it look painted.  The ink bled some but as it was the same color it just gave it more of a watercolored look.  I made the slits for the ribbon with my hobby blade.

When it comes to ideas for presents, my husband is impossible.  There are many thinks he will think of and want but never around a gift giving holiday.  As we are on a strict budget right now I didn't want to buy him just anything but something he really wanted or needed.  So I got him a bunch of gift cards to stores he shops in often.  I then made the gift card holders.  Its not the most romantic gift in the word but the next thing he wants he can go out and get without feeling guilty.

The dimensions for the gift card holder are 3-1/2 x 5-3/4 with a score at 2-3/4.  I punch a slit for the top to tuck into.  I adhered the gift card to the inside with a single glue dot so the card can be removed without damaging the holder.
