Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Another super cute card I saw demonstrated at convention!  Yes, this is a Christmas card.  I am in full swing of all the fall/Winter holidays already!

This card is a great example of the fun you can have with the stamps with matching framelits!  Framelits are better than punches as you get more for cheaper and they are easier to store!  For a peak at how I store mine just go here.

A couple of tips so you can CASE this card.  The hot chocolate mug is cut out with a framelit and then attached the label (also cut out with a framelit) with dimensionals.  After I adhered the mug I stamped the steam right on the label.  I used the Festival of Prints pack for the Designer Paper.  I cut the paper in half (and a little off the bottom) for the card.  Cutting it in half allows you to get almost 100 cards out of the pack!  The Merry is punched out with the Tag punch.

Get Well Butterfly

There was a message that I heard at convention that made me stop and think about how I made cards.  The message was "keep it simple".  As I looked at all my cards I realized that I was adding a lot to the cards but when I went back and looked at the cards that wowed my customers the most, they were the ones that were simple and still beautiful.  "foucus on the colors and stamps".  So as I go forward I am trying to redirect myself on simple and beautiful.

Which brings me to today's post.  The butterfly is adhered with a Dimensional so that it can fly.

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Daydream Medallion, Perfectly Penned
Card Stock - Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant
Ink - Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade, Elegant Eggplant

Glitter Butterflies In Colors!

While at convention I learned the easiest technique ever.  I actually had to smack my forehead in the "duh!" fashion because it is so easy but I never thought of it!  As you may know, Stampin' Up! has three colors of Glitter paper and that's it!  Red, Silver and as of the new Holiday Mini, Champagne.  It is so easy to use to add bling to any project but just in those three colors.  NOT!  You can have any color you want by just Sponging the color of choice onto the Sliver Glitter paper!  Easy Peasy!  Just make sure you let it dry a little longer than normal as it takes a little longer (otherwise you will have finger prints on your nice white card like I did).

Here, as one of my door prizes at my Open House, I punched out butterflies with the Fancy Butterfly Punch and sponged them each with an 2012-2014 In-Color.  The winner got this and one sheet of each color cardstock!

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) -
Card Stock - Sliver Glitter

Moving Forward Friend

This past weekend I held an Open House for all my customers to come and see all the projects, gifts, and swaps I got from convention.  I had 18 women come and we had a great time.  One of the things I want to show them was the Moving Forward set that we got for free at convention.  This set is really adorable AND it is this year's Ronald McDonald House set.  When you purchase this set, Stampin' Up! donates $3.00 to Ronald McDonald House Charities!  This has been raised from $2.00.  Go to my site and order yours today!

At the Open House we made this cute, simple card.  I like it and find it a great card to have on hand for those times you really wish you had a card to send for any potential occasion that may arise

Awesome Framelit Storage!

I absolutely love the new framelits but I am not a fan of there storage.  I have to open the folder completely to remember what the framelit shapes are and the tape is a little bit of a pain, especially after several uses.  So I made myself a better case with some inspiration from a fellow paper crafter :)

First I took the cover out of the envelope and cut it so it was one sided and trimmed the edges downed a little being careful not to cut the words.

I slide the cover into an empty Clear Stamp Case that I bought from Stampin' Up!

I bought a roll of magnet that was sticky on one side.  I positioned it in the case on the back of the label.  How much and what direction depends on what framelits you are putting in the case.

Here it is with the Holiday Collection Framelits.  The framelits "adhere" to the magnets well.

I put the magnet on the label side so when the case is closed, I can see my framelits through the back.

I added a label to the spine so that I could store them with my Clear Stamp Sets.

In case you are wondering, my stamp holders are DVD racks from IKEA.

The Floral Frames Framelits is a tight fit in the case but if you slide it down a little bit so the petals are straddling the case locks it will fit.

Make-N-Takes from the Hilton Event

This weekend I sat down and finished my swaps from convention. I did better this year of getting most things done but I did still run out of time. There was also a couple things I didn't do to make it easier to travel. Make-n-takes are my favorite because we get to play with products we may not have!

Along with convention, I also attended an event hosted by Lisa Rodriguez at the Hilton on Tuesday. She had a swap you could participate in, lunch, lots of adorable gifts, and make-n-takes! We had so much fun at this event and it was such a gray way to kick off convention week!

Check out the great make-n-takes we got to do!

this was a bag topper and the bag had graham crackers, Hersey's chocolate, and a snowman marshmallow but they made the trip home in my belly :D
