Differences in Sponging

This card uses a retired set (Vintage Vogue) bit I am still posting it to show the difference between a Sponge Dauber and just a Sponge.  Lets look at the Whisper White center.  I first stamped all the images I wanted on the card.  I then took a Sponge Dauber to accent the center of the flowers.  Notice how much coverage there is.  I also used the sponge dauber on the edges of the paper the darken them.  I then switched to the sponge and dabbed it all over the paper.  That is what gives the browning look and softens the white cardstock.  If you use the Sponge Dauber to do this you will get a more solid ink coverage and potentially circles.  To finish the card off, I also used the Sponge Dauber to really darken the edges of the overall card.  If you really want it to look worn, wet your finger tips and roll the edges some.  Or rub a Bone Folder along the edges to break down the fibers.

Belated Father's Day Card

I made this card for Father's Day.  I know that I did not get this posted in time but it is an overall good card idea for men.  Yes the card has flowers and ribbon and polka dots, but because of the colors you can pass it off as a masculine card.  Color choice is everything.  I like this card for its simplicity.  Everything is flat on the card except the center of the flower which is popped up with Dimensionals.

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Mixed Bunch
Card Stock - Crumb Cake, Basic Black, and Whisper White
Ink - Basic Black, So Saffron
Accessories - 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Big Shot, Perfect Polka-Dot Embossing Folder, Blossom Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Dimesionals, Scallop Border Punch

Betsy's Birds

This card uses one of the new sets and one of the new In Colors from the 2012-2013 Catalog.  The bird is inked up once in the new ink pad and then stamped three times without reinking.  The new stamp pads not only do a great job covering the solid images but also gets enough ink on the stamp to go a long way!  I popped up the Framelit with Dimensionals.  The Occasions Alphabet give you lots of options for this card!

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Occasions Alphabet, Betsy's Blossoms
Card Stock - Primrose Petals, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Ink - Pink Pirouette, Primrose Petals
Accessories - Sponge Dauber, Dimensionals, Scallop Trim Border, Big Shot, Framelits Labels Collection

Faith in Nature

This verse is from the Faith In Nature set that is a hostess set.  If you love this saying as much as I do, you better hurry because it will be gone June 1st!  If you missed out on the sneak peak of Bright Blossoms set, Daffodil Delight Seam Binding, and Summer Smooches DS don't worry, it will be available in the new catalog June 1!

It is hard to tell straight on but this uses my favorite combination, White on White.  I layer white on a white card base by using Dimensionals to pop it up off the base.  I also used dimensionals to pop the flowers up.

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Bright Blossoms, Faith in Nature
Card Stock - Whisper White, Summer Smooches DS
Ink - Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry

Accessories - Daffodil Delight Seam Binding, Dimensionals, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Rhinestones

Wisteria Daisy

This card I used for some of my Easter cards and then I left a bunch blank for last minute needs.  The Upsy Daisy set is retiring so make sure to get it fast!  I stamped the flowers once in Wisteria Wonder and then, with the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig I stamped the flowers again, just slightly lower in Elegant Eggplant.  I used the Crop-A-Dile (that is also retiring) to make a hole through the layers so that I could attach the ribbon.

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Upsy Daisy
Card Stock - Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, DS Patterned Pack In Color 11-13
Ink - Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant
Accessories - Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, Crop-A-Dile, Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon
