Thank You Make N' Take

We had 5 Make n' Takes at the Regional.  I am going to show you the ones with a fun technique!  This is a 3"x3" card with a stamped envelope to match.  The cool little technique is with the Rosette.  You may already know this; however, I didnt so I'm sharing :)  The Rosettes come only in Vanilla but you can make them any color you want by coloring them with a Stampin' Write Marker and then using an Aqua Painter to spread the ink and soak it in to the flower.  Add more ink from the marker for darker colors and less for lighter.

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Nature Walk, Thank You Kindly
Card Stock - Early Espresso, Naturals Ivory
Ink - Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive
Accessories - Vanilla Rosettes, Mini Glue Dots, Aqua Painter

My Swap from Orlando Regional

Here is the card I made for my swap at the Regional!  It is of Asian design which is some of my favorites.  :)

For the Bonsai, I stamped the image in Basic Black and then used a Blender Pen and Old Olive to color the leaves.

The technique I am featuring here is omitting a section with an Embossing Folder as shown below.

First, take a piece of cardboard.  I used the cardboard that comes in the DS Paper packages.  Using the Exacto Knife, cut out the section you want to omit.  You can also use the Big Shot to cut a shape.

Lay the Embossing Folder over the cardboard, get it positioned just the way you want it, then trace with pencil.

Remove the Embossing Folder and put Dotto to the cardboard edges.  Put the Embossing Folder back on using the lines you have drawn.  The adhesive will keep the folder from sliding when going through the Big Shot.

Put your piece of cardstock in the folder.

You want to be on Tab 2 of the Multipurpose Platform.

Put your cardboard/Embossing Folder directly on Tab 2 (do not use the bottom cutting plate).

Put a cutting plate on top then run through the Big Shot.

You will have your Omission!

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Kimono Kids, Plant Hope
Card Stock - Cajun Craze, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink - Basic Black, Old Olive
Accessories - Blender Pen, Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder

Stampin' Up! Orlando Regional

I just return from the Orlando Regional this weekend.  I had SO MUCH FUN!  And I learn so many tricks, tips, and techniques.  Needless to say my wish list just got longer!  For the next week or so I will be featuring things I have learned and swaps I received.  I will also post my swap and a tutorial on the technique I used.  For this post I am going to share some pictures from the conference.

The best picture of the conference is the one I got with none other then Shelli the co-founder and CEO of Stampin' Up!  I was so excited when I read that she was going to be attended our conference and even more excited that I could get the picture with her!

As I like to say "fantabulous!"  Just an amazing woman, I admire her greatly.

Here we are all waiting in line to register for the event.  There were around 500 attendees.

We received Nature Walk Stamp Set and all the supplies for 5 Make-n-Takes.

Shelli stopped by our table to have some chocolates that one of the wonderful demonstrators I was sitting with brought and to have her picture taken with another demonstrator that was in a wheelchair due to a broke leg and foot.  Really wonderful of her.

As I said before, I had just an AMAZING time! Before I go, I will share with you one of the projects I got to see and this is Shelli's project.

She stamped First Edition DS Paper and tore it into strips.  She attached it to a foam egg with modge podge.  She then adhered Rose Red Seam Binding around the edges.  She made little flowers with Rose Red Cardstock and pearls, a loop with the Rose Red Seam Binding, and topped it off with a Clear Bauble on the bottom.  Of course, if you know Shelli, she then doused the whole thing with glitter!  As Shelli says "there is never too much bling".

Happy Birthday Cupcake Punch

This is a card that a customer of mine made and brought to my last class to show off.  Needless to say I went and purchased the Create A Cupcake Set and Build A Cupcake Punch.  How fun!  Keep an eye out for my card using these materials!  Thanks Carol for sharing!
