For my Scrapbook Swap I am in two different groups. In each group there is someone assigned to each month so at the end of the swap everyone had a two page spread for each month of the year. For this group I had November. I actually designed both of my page spreads in My Digital Studio (MDS) and then assembled them with actual paper and product. MDS is a great tool for planning and layouts, not just digitally scrapbooking.

Thanksgiving Leaves
I just arrived home last week from visiting Chicago. It was cold! But my husband and I did get to have a taste of Fall and the changing of the seasons which was nice. We got to explore the city some and also visit family. It doesn't get better than that :)
I found this card on Stampin' Connection, an excellent idea resource for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators. I liked the simplicity of the card and the natural colors. However, if you wanted to change it up, it would look good with a leaf in any of the fall colors.
Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Teeny Tiny Wishes, Wonderfall
Card Stock - Sahara Sand, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Ink - Early Espresso
Accessories - Big Shot, Bitty Banners Framelits, Autumn Accents Die, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, 1" Circle Punch, Linen Thread, Glue Dots

Fall is Here
Fall has arrived (in most states). So I have a few Fall cards for you before I dive head first into Christmas. This card uses the ever so popular layering technique. These cards are quick and fun! Cut all your cardstock first. Lay the three sheets of Whisper White on top of each other without the Bravo Burgundy. You can use temporary tape to hold in place. Stamp your leaves on all three layers simultaneously. There will be a slight gap of white but your layers of Bravo Burgundy will cover that up!
Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Wonderfall, Kindness Matters
Card Stock - Barvo Burgundy, Whisper White
Ink - More Mustard, Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Bravo Burgundy
Accessories - Linen Thread, Neutrals Designer Buttons

Convention 2012 Swap - Thanksgiving
My first convention swap tutorial! This is for a Holiday Swap. I chose Thanksgiving, mostly because I love the Thumping Technique and it it BEAUTIFUL in fall colors!
First we will use the Thumping Technique to ink our tree from Lovely As A Tree. I am using More Mustard, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, and Early Espresso Markers. First I color in all the leaves part with the More Mustard. Then with the Old Olive, turn the wide end of the marker sideways and just tap it down on the leaves. I tap it around randomly. Be sure not to color but to just tap. Repeat with the Cherry Cobbler and the Early Espresso. Also use the Early Espresso to color in the trunk of the tree. Then stamp it on your Whisper White cardstock. The colors give the effect of the leaves changing. You should clean your stamp between each reapplication otherwise your colors will be very muddy and you will loss the effect. No matter what colors you use, always start with the lightest color and work to the darkest color.
Here you can kind of see where the Old Olive is after Thumping that color.
I then used the same inks and a Sponge Dauber to sponge the edges of the tree and the Happy Thanksgiving after you stamp it and punch it out with the Large Oval Punch. I again started with the lightest color and went in order to the darkest color sponging randomly until the edges were covered with all four colors.
It is hard to see from my pictures but I stamped the leaf from the Lovely As A Tree set in Early Espresso on the Early Espresso base card to create a background.
To finish the card, layer the tree cardstock and adhere to the card. Layer the Oval saying on the Cherry Cobbler punched out with the Modern Label Punch and then adhere to the card with Dimensionals.

Give Thanks
Before we move into Christmas, I wanted to give you at least one Thanksgiving card. I have to admit that Thanksgiving often gets over looked in my craft room. Once I wrap up Halloween, I am just so excited I just straight into Christmas! But this year, I did slow down and make a Thanksgiving card. I had to as I was so inspired by the wreath in the Warmest of Wishes set! Plus I had a perfect scripted saying from the Hand-Penned Holidays set!
(sorry the colors are so bad in this photo)
I used my markers and inked the leaves individually. It takes time but gives a great fall look!
Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Warmest of Wishes, Hand-Penned Holidays
Card Stock - Soft Suede, Naturals Ivory, Lucky Limeade
Ink - Markers: Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie, Always Artichoke, Daffodil Delight
Accessories - Dimensionals, 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder

Halloween Pumpkin
I made this card with a Halloween Birthday in mind but then quickly realized you could change the Basic Black to Early Espresso or another shade of Brown and it becomes a Thanksgiving card! How will you use it?
The pumpkin is as easy as punching out 5 ovals and glueing them together. I sponged the edges of each of the ovals first for some added contrast. The stem is a stamp from the Pines and Poinsettias set.
Got to LOVE the Boho Blossoms! I distressed them by bending a lot to give them dimension and the glued them all together with single glue dots to allow the petals freedom.
Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Pines & Poinsettias, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock - Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Pear Pizzazz
Ink - Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz, Basic Black
Accessories - Sponge Daubers, Large Oval Punch, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, 3/16" Corner Punch, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

My November Birthday Card
Okay, I know I am way ahead posting my November birthday cards but I wanted everything done so I could fully move on to Christmas. I also need to be ahead of schedule as my husband and I are house hunting and we may end up moving during the holiday season and I am NOT buying my cards!!!
I took this picture on an Old Olive background as the card disappeared on white. The card is pretty straightforward except the pumpkin. To do this I used a technique called Thumping. The idea of thumping is you coat the stamp with on color (I lighter color) then use a marker to add (thump) spots of a darker color over top. On the stamp, color the entire pumpkin with Pumpkin Pie. Then color the stem Old Olive. Finally, take Cajun Craze and color spots of the pumpkin (right over the Pumpkin Pie). Huff on the stamp and stamp it onto your paper. Multiple colors in one easy step! It is a great way to add shading right to the image you want to stamp.
Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Paisley Prints, wish from a retired set
Card Stock - Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Old Olive
Ink - Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Old Olive Markers
Accessories - Square Scallop Punch, Paper Snips, Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Template, Dimensionals, Jewelry Tag Punch,1/16" Circle Punch, Linen Thread, Brights Designer Buttons
