Bootiful Monsters

I found this card in my Google Reader and thought I would try it out!  It was a little more complicated than I expected and my class attendees I think were wishing I went a little more simple, live and learn.

I used the Diagonal Plate with my Simply Scored to figure out the angles for the corner and then used the Finishing Touches Edgelits to cut them.

Witches, Goblins, Spooks Oh My!

Another Card CASEd from Stampin' Connection.  I am having a LOT of fun this year with Halloween Cards!  It mostly stems from my LOVE of the Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Paper!  And of course the googly eyes *Smile*.  This is another fairly simple and straight forward card.  I had to add some bling with the new Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details by outlining the label.  Cuteness!

Halloween Birthday Banners

This card is a case from a card I fell in love with on Stampin' Connection.  This is a site exclusive to demonstrators where 100s of gorgeous creations are shared!  I loved its simplicity and how it could be a subtle Halloween card or a great October birthday card!  Notice that the "clothesline" that the flags hang from is actually drawn on!  Saves you from having to thread each of the banners, though you could still do it that way if you are truly motivated!  I know my class attendees were VERY happy I didn't have them do that again *Smile*.

3x3 Googly Halloween

This cute little 3" x 3" card is great for Halloween treats you may give to family or friends.  This card is my first use of the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark ink pad found in the Holiday Mini.  After I ran the Old Olive through the Big Shot with the Spider Web Embossing Folder, I rubbed it directly on the ink pad lightly.  This allowed the Glimmer to just accent the raised parts.  I think it is a great addition to the card!

Halloween Candy Card

I was going through my over full Google Reader the other day and saw this card.  I was immediately in love and knew I had to make this for myself!  Absolutely fantastic!  And there is nothing better than a homemade card, except a homemade card with CANDY in it!

The envelope inside is created with DS paper and the Simply Scoring Tool with the Diagonal Plate.  Mary Fish was AMAZING enough to put together all the dimensions necessary to make your own envelopes!  The envelope I used here was a 4 x 4 and then I cut off the flap.  You can make a 5 x 5 to put the whole card in!

After my helper finished playing with the wrappers of the candy I had to "taste test", she passed out on me!

Shaving Cream Halloween

We made this card in my Monthly Technique Class.  The technique being Shaving Cream Technique.  So much fun!  We created the background with shaving cream and Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and More Mustard Re-Inkers.

Halloween Bat

I swapped for an adorable card like this at Convention.  I knew immediately I needed to do this for Halloween.  So Cute!

The bat is actually very easy.  The body and eyes are from the Owl Punch (just trim those feet off).  The wings are the 1-3/4" Circle punch cut in half and then punched at the bottom three times each with the 1/2" Circle Punch.

Halloween Pumpkin

I made this card with a Halloween Birthday in mind but then quickly realized you could change the Basic Black to Early Espresso or another shade of Brown and it becomes a Thanksgiving card!  How will you use it?

The pumpkin is as easy as punching out 5 ovals and glueing them together.  I sponged the edges of each of the ovals first for some added contrast.  The stem is a stamp from the Pines and Poinsettias set.

Got to LOVE the Boho Blossoms!  I distressed them by bending a lot to give them dimension and the glued them all together with single glue dots to allow the petals freedom.

I got this idea from Shelly herself at convention.  The Festive and Fun set is well named!  Cant wait to use it for Christmas and Valentine's Day too!

I stamped the words with StazOn Black and then "painted" away with my blender pen!

Another CUTE Halloween Treat!

I have been working on my treat handouts.  Here is another very cute Halloween treat holder.  I gave this out to anyone who brought a friend to my last Stamp-A-Stack!

First cut 2 tags and a rectangle of 5" x 2-3/4"
Cut 5/8" off bottom of the tags
Score the Rectangle: long ways at 1-1/8" and 3-7/8"; short ways at 1/2" and 2-1/4"
Cut on the small folds in the center from the edge to the 1/2" score line
Apply Sticky Strip to the side flaps
Fold up to form the frame of the box
Adhere the 2 tags

I added this cute decoration to the front!  And tied the top with Seam Binding.

I used the same paper to wrap 6 Hersey nuggets to go inside.

Pinwheel Halloween Treat

We are getting closer to October and that means HALLOWEEN TIME!  So excited!  Because to me that means the kick off of the holiday season!  This is my absolute favorite time of the year.  And it also means that I can show you all the projects I have been working on!  I have to admit that I had all my Halloween stuff done in August and I have been working on Christmas stuff since September 1st!  There are So many great things in the Holiday Mini Catalog and So many great ideas from Convention, I just haven't been able to stop myself!

This project is a great treat idea.  And it is very simple!

First I will start by showing you how to make the pin wheel.

For the large pinwheel, take a 5" x 5" square sheet of paper.  Designer Series Paper is better to use than cardstock.  make four cuts, one from each corner toward the middle but not all the way to the middle.

Repeat with a 3" x 3" square sheet of paper.

Fold every other cut piece to the center of the square.  Use a glue dot on the tip to hold it in place.  Do this for both pieces of paper.

Take a 1" x 80" Cellophane bag and fill it with the candy of your choice, leaving a little room at the top, and seal it.
Using the Crop-A-Dile 1/8" punch, punch a whole in the middle of each pinwheel and at the top of the cellophane bag.

Use a Glimmer Brad, through each of the wholes in order, to hold the pinwheel and treat together.

I told you it was easy!  Enjoy!

October Birthday Card

This card is my October Birthday card.  Every month I theme my birthday cards around the holiday or season of the month.  I really like this one ALOT!!!  I have seen several cards using this layout so I dont know who to actually give credit for the idea.  Just know that it is not my original idea.

I used the Dark and Dreary Stamp Set which I fell in love with primarily for the candelabra.  I love Disney and it reminds me of the Haunted Mansion.  To fun!  The black, wrinkly, torn paper is the new Waffle Paper.  I just love the stuff.  It is like tissue paper and is easy to add as an embellishment!  The little side piece is some Nite Owl DS paper punched with the small oval, folded over the edge, and attached with a brad. 

The best thing on this card though is the technique used to texture the Whisper White CS that the candelabra is on. White alone was just too white so I took Pear Pizzazz Ink Pad and some tissues that a balled up. I dabbed the tissues in the ink then on to the paper. It gave it a soft, irregular pattern to the paper.  Similar to sponging but the sponge tends to be more of a consistent pattern where the tissue is not.

I was making these cards with one of my customers, Adrianne.  She wanted to make the card more for her young nephews for Halloween so she changed up the card some.  She mixed in stamps from the Fang-tastic set.  They came out just adorable!

My Halloween Card

October is almost here. When it comes to card making and crafting the holiday season is the best time of the year and it is beginning!!! My next couple of posts will be some more fun Halloween and fall cards then I will be full into Christmas!!! Can you believe it is only 12 weeks out!


Here is the Halloween card I plan to send this year.  I am a big fan of cartoon, light cards.  This card is pretty straightforward and I got to pull out my Watercolor Pencils and color!

Halloween Party

One last post of my creations from ideas straight from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  These items are found on pgs 6 and 9 and are great for you Halloween parties!

This is the simplest idea ever.  I purchased cocktail napkins from the store and then ran them through the Big Shot with the Spider Web Embossing Folder.  They came out just adorable!

These are the same idea as my party favors but done up with some of the Nite Owl DS paper and Raven Lace Ribbon.  Great to hand out treats to little ones.

I love thems and decorating everything I can get my hands on for a party so this is lots of fun.  I just wrapped Nite Owl DS paper around nuggets!  Too cute!

Happy Halloween Picture

Another Halloween project from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  I hope I am not boring you, but I had so much fun!  I saw this picture on pg. 6 and wanted to have it for myself.  What a great Decore piece! 

I picked up the 8x10 frame at JoAnn's for $5.00.  I cut the tree paper (from the Nite Owl DS pack) to fit then used stamps to decorate around the edge.  The happy halloween is a Decor Elements image that I adhered right to the outside of the glass.  It looks great and already have the spot picked out to display it in October!

Quote the Raven...

This very simple card can be found on page 6 of the new Holiday Mini Catalog.  This card is so fast and easy and I just love the look!  The primary image is Nite Owl DS cut to fit the card.  I attached it to Tango Tangerine then tied the Raven Trim Lace around it.  Then all that's left is to attach to a Basic Black base!

3x3 Halloween

All the stores are going Halloween and so am I.  I ordered a bunch of Halloween items from the Holiday Mini Catalog and was just dying to play with them.  I didnt want to think, just play so I sat down and made several projects right from the catalog itself.  Over the next couple posts I am going to show you what I made.

This card came from pg. 6 of the mini catalog.  I stamped the Happy Halloween stamp on Whisper White and then again on Pear Pizzazz.  I punched out the number and layered it on with a Dimensional.  I layered the Whisper White onto Pear Pizzazz then onto Basic Black, but not before I added a strip of DS for a little more texture.  I tied my ribbon into a bow and adhered it with a glue dot.  After a couple of days the bow fell off so I glued it with 2-way glue so I recommend you use that instead.  This is a 3"x3" card and would make a great gift tag as shown in the catalog or as a card by itself.

Halloween Birthday

A demonstrator friend of mine in Ohio celebrates her birthday on Halloween. I am sure she gets lots of Halloween birthday cards so I decided to do a fall card instead. I found this idea on a blog that I follow (Ruth's Stamping Corner) and just loved how the demonstrator punched out the pumpkin, how creative! Sometimes I find myself surrounded by such creative people and feel so small.

The pumpkin is 5 Large Ovals punched out and put together. I cut the stem by hand from a piece of scrap. (side: it is ALWAYS a good idea to hang on to scrap, there is almost always a need).
