Christmas Thank You

Okay, two days before Christmas. I have finished and sent my Christmas cards, I have my gifts wrapped and decorated with cute tags and trinkets, the cookies are all baked...now what. Thank You Cards! I don't know about you but with everything going on I want something simple to assemble and send out.

I created this cute little 3"x3" card for my thank yous. I saw this idea on a post and changed it a little to match what I already had in the house. However, I am very sorry, when I went through my starred items to give credit to the original idea, I couldn't locate it. Let me know if this idea is yours!

The Real Red is cut to 6"x3". My plan is to write my message on the entire span of the inside. I love the Christmas Cocoa DS paper. It is the textured piece and I think it adds a lot to the card. Check out my previous post to use other paper from the Christmas Cocoa DS and a business envelope to make matching envelopes that fit this card.

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - none required
Card Stock - Real Red, Christmas Cocoa DS, Whisper White
Ink - none required
Accessories -Mistletoe Ribbon, Snowflake Punch, Pretties Kit

Christmas Wishes Gift Card Holder

I got this project from the Stampin' Success magazine you get when you are a demonstrator. Just another perk of being a demonstrator! If you would like to become a demonstrator contact me today to learn how. And another great thing, Sale-A-Bration begins January 5th. If you sign up to be a demonstrator during Sale-A-Bration you will receive 15% off your Starter Kit AND receive a FREE Stamp Set from the catalog! Hard to beat such a great deal.

I made a handful of these this year as a great way to give gift certificates. They are very simple to create!

First, cut the Certainly Celery (7"x4") and score it at 1-3/4" and 4-1/2".

Then, cut the Very Vanilla (7-1/4"x2-1/2") and score it at 2" and 4-1/2".

Last, cut the Ruby Red (7-1/4"x1") and score it at 2" and 4-1/2". Then punch out the scallop edge.

Now all you have to do is assemble and decorate! Tape the Ruby Red Scallop piece to the Very Vanilla piece. Fold the Certainly Celery piece and then fold the Very Vanilla piece around it. Do not tape this part down.

Tie a ribbon around the two pieces to hold it together but make sure it is still loose enough so it can be slid off. Just decorate the outside of your holder, attach the gift card to the inside and your all done!

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Delightful Decorations
Card Stock - Very Vanilla, Certainly Celery, Ruby Red
Ink - Ruby Red
Accessories -Stampin' Dimensionals, Scallop Edge Punch, Mistletoe Ribbon, Ornament Punch

Christmas Scrapbook

This weekend my husband and I went to Disney World for a D23 event, Magic and Merriment. It was absolutely AMAZING. Not only did we get to enjoy all the lights and Christmas celebration that we see every year (and it only gets better) but we also got to listen to speakers talk about how all the decorating happens, how the gingerbread houses are put together and the stories behind the Osborne lights. Incredible! We also got to tour Cinderella's Castle Suite, had reserved seating for the Candlelight Processional, enjoyed a Disney catered dinner (on the set of Lights, Motors, Action) and Lunch (at the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon), and ate cookies and drinks on the Liberty Belle. Not to mention the many gifts and wonderful people!

An experience like this just needs to be preserved in something beautiful! I found a class listed by a fellow demonstrator and emailed her to find how she created this amazing 6x6 album. She was kind enough to share her creation with me. This album is made from CD Envelopes and Stampin' Up!s Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit.

Between each page I have shown in the pictures is a double page spread of just Designer Series Paper to add pictures as well. I really enjoyed making this album and I cant wait to add my pictures!
Want to learn how to make this album? Contact me today to purchase a class-to-go. You will receive the necessary materials and directions for assembly. The cost is $35.00 plus shipping. If you are a demonstrator, just email me and I will share the recipe!

Thanksgiving Weekend

Happy Belated Thanksgiving! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I had a great time. My husband and I went to his parents in West Palm Beach, Florida. We cooked dinner for the family and had a great meal. Of course we did some Black Friday shopping as well. We we up at 5:00 am to get the best deals. I am most excited about the photo printer I got so I can print my own pictures for scrapbooking. My old printer just wasn't cutting it any more but it was 9 years old.

I have been working on projects for my Christmas Party this coming Saturday (Dec 5th at 6:00). Be sure to RSVP by Dec 4th to be sure I have enough projects made. You must attend to receive a Christmas gift from me; make the projects which include an ornament, a gift card holder, and a note card; and enter to win the Door Prize. Below are two items that will be in the Door Prize. I have been working hard on the door prize and it will definitely be worth winning.

This is the 2010 Calendar Kit from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I have stamped them up with the Note to Self set also found in the Holiday Mini Catalog.

These cards will make great Thank you cards. I have included 8 cards and envelopes in the Door Prize. I cased this from this card.

Stamp Set(s) - Note to Self
Card Stock - Real Red, Christmas Cocoa DS paper, Whisper White
Ink - Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue, More Mustard, Old Olive markers

Dasher

I CASED this idea from a card I saw on SplitCoastStampers; however, when I went back to try to find it to credit the creator I couldn't locate it so I apologize. I just love this single stamp by Stampin' Up! and it is less that $10.00! I have had a lot of fun with it.

With this card I used Christmas Cocoa Designer Series Paper as the background and the ribbon is the back side of the Real Red Polka Dot Ribbon. It is hard to tell from the picture; however, I used Dazzling Diamonds on the antlers to add some sparkle. It looks amazing in person.

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Dasher, Four the Holidays
Card Stock - Christmas Cocoa DS, Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Real Red
Ink - Always Artichoke
Accessories -2-Way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, 3/4" Polka-Dot Grosgrain Real Red Ribbon

Create Your Own Envelope

In the past I used to avoid square cards because I could NEVER find envelopes to fit. I got tired of it and searched the Internet for a way to "make" my own. I found a great way and as we are approaching the Holidays I wanted to share it with all of you. Please keep in mind that this is not an original idea and there are others that have posted this. I know that many of you may already know how to do this but even if I can save one person the headache then it is all worth sharing it again.

For my example I am going to make an envelope for a 4x4 card but keep in mind that you can do this for 3x3, 5x5, etc, you just have to change your starting envelope (Business Envelope, 5x7,etc).
Start with an A2 envelope (the envelope for a standard card). Seal the Envelope. Measure lengthwise to 4 3/8" and cut. Using the 1 3/8" punch, on the sealed side, punch a slot. Your envelope should now look like the picture below.
Now take a piece of scrap paper (either Cardstock or Designer Series Paper) and cut it to 4 3/8" x 3". It adds something if you use paper from or coordinating with the card you are sending. In the direction of the 3" length, make a score mark at 1". Fold at the score and adhere the 1" portion to the front of the envelope as pictured below.
On the reverse side you have your flap that you can seal. Pictured Below.

As simple as that you now have a functioning square envelope and it coordinates with the card! You can always add decoration to the flap by adding a scalloped edge or stamped images. You can become as creative with your envelopes as you are with your cards.

Supplies:
Card Stock - Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit
Accessories -A2 Envelope, 1 3/8" Punch

Warm Winter Wishes

I was playing around in my stamp room yesterday and came across some cards that I had made with the Flaky Friends Stamp Set. I was so disappointed when that set retired because I LOVED it so much. It is still one of the retired sets that I hang on to. When I was looking through the cards it dawned on me that the snowmen in The More The Merrier Stamp Set is a lot like it. So I set to work creating cards with my new snowmen. I Love the Stampin' Up! blue colors so I used them to indicate cold. The snowflakes are from the Christmas Punch Stamp Set. I stamped them with Encore Silver ink. The coloring on the snowmen is Ballet Blue and a Blender Pen.

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Christmas Punch, The More The Merrier
Card Stock - Whisper White, Ballet Blue, Night of Navy
Ink - Ballet Blue, Basic Black, Silver Encore
Accessories -Blender Pen, Word Window Punch, Label Punch, Dimensionals

December Birthday Card

I know this might be sad but today I am posting my December Birthday Card. I, for the most part, make one card for everyone with birthdays in a month. Sometimes I have to do another because of people in the same family. Anyways, I actually finished my birthday cards for December last month. I got over excited in my stamp room planning my Christmas classes and just kept going (smile).

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Delightful Decorations, Small Script
Card Stock - Chocolate Chip, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White, DS Christmas Cocoa
Ink - Ruby Red
Accessories -Silver Elastic Cord, Clear Rhinestone Brads, Ornament Punch, Hodgepodge Hardware, Dimensionals

Flight of the Butterfly 3D

I have been so busy with scrapbook projects when I am in my stamp room that I haven't made any cards in a while. Here is a card from a Stamp-A-Stack I had a couple months back. I love this card because of its 3D effect. To create this effect I first stamped the butterfly in Dusty Durango onto the Whisper White. I then stamped one of the background butterfly images on Dusty Durango Cardstock and punched it out. I only taped down the body of the butterfly with sticky strip then bent the wings up from the card!

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Flight of the Butterfly
Card Stock - Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Whisper White, DS Razzleberry Lemonade
Ink - Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry
Accessories -Butterfly Punch

Ornament Punch Christmas Card

Sorry I didn't post yesterday! This week has flown by so quickly! Happy Halloween!! I hope everyone has a great weekend. I am planning to enjoy Halloween with my nieces, very much looking forward to it.

On to the card. Even though it is Halloween I am completely in Christmas mode. Here is another Christmas card using Delightful Decorations and the matching punch. I just LOVE this set/punch combo! I used the shimmer paint as a spray again as I described in this post. I sprayed the entire card after I finished with it. You can kind of see the shimmer but it is much prettier in person. The Shimmer Paint is the most fun to play with and add to cards! Hope you enjoy!

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Delightful Decorations, Sassy Sparkles Jumbo Wheel, Four the Holidays
Card Stock - Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla
Ink - Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke, Basic Black

Extravagent Christmas Card Stamp-A-Stack

I had a GREAT Stamp-A-Stack this weekend. I just LOVE the women, we had so much fun. Now that I have had the class, I will post the cards! I had a lot of fun creating them. The first two, if you are a Demonstrator, were CASED from the Stampin' Successes. I called it an Extravagant Christmas Card Stamp-A-Stack because the cards are a little more time consuming and are usually saved for family and close friends.

Best & Brightest Card

Multiple techniques are used in this card. I am going to mention two. The first is the saying which was done by using Rub-Ons. It is perfect on the Bashful Blue, it keeps the card soft. The second is the glittering on the Blissful Blue Ornament. After it is stamped and punched out, I rubbed 2-Way Glue onto parts of the snowflake and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds Glitter onto it. It gives it a great look!

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Delightful Decorations, Sassy Sparkle Jumbo Wheels
Card Stock - Bashful Blue, Whisper White
Ink - Bashful Blue, Ruby Red
Accessories - Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter, Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Clear Rhinestone Brads or Pretties Kit, Merry & Bright Rub-Ons, Stampin' Dimensionals, Ornament Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Jumbo Wheel Handle, 2-Way Glue

Merry Christmas Card

This is a simple card, however, I got to show off the Shimmer Paint! I used it in two different ways. First, after I folded the Old Olive I sprayed it with Shimmer Spray. I created the shimmer spray by filling an old Stampin' Mist bottle 3/4 the way full with rubbing alcohol and then added approximately a teaspoon of Shimmer paint. It is hard to see in the picture but creates a nice soft shimmer to the card. Then on the the ornaments I sponged Shimmer Paint directly onto it after the ink had dried to create a bold shimmer look.

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Delightful Decorations, Four the Holidays
Card Stock - Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink - Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Real Red
Accessories - Silver Elastic Cord, Stampin' Dimensionals, Ornament Punch, Frost White Shimmer Paint, 1/16" Punch, Sponge Dauber

Sweet Treat Ornament Card

I showed my customers how to create a Sweet Treat Cup card with an access on the inside to retrieve the treat. I CASED this from this card. It is hard to see in the picture but I used one of the circle designs from Delightful Decorations in versamark along the edge of the Real Red underneath the Merry Christmas. I chose bells for the cup and it makes it a lot of fun!

Tape a piece of Cardstock partially over the hole leaving enough room to fill the cup. Make sure you do not tape a space for a tag to slide in. (see next picture). I taped with sticky strip the short side and the top then I set the slider piece down to measure and taped on the other side of it so the slider will fit.

The piece of cardstock will then slide in covering the hole but can be removed to access the treat without destroying the card!

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Sweet Centers, Four the Holidays, Delightful Decorations
Card Stock - Whisper White, Real Red, Chocolate Chip
Ink - Chocolate Chip, Versamark
Accessories -Sweet Treat Cups, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Mistletoe Ribbon

Cute Christmas Cards

I wanted to share more projects from the weekend. This weekend Nikki, our 16 year old cousin, was over to stamp with me. She wanted to make Christmas cards. Several cards she made CASING a couple of mine; however, she wanted to make one all on her own. I went into demonstrator mode and was teaching her tricks to coming up with ideas. First she scanned the current catalog for layout ideas. She got her layout out from pg. 88. The design had some DS paper so she dug through my scraps of paper and found a piece of DS Christmas paper that has since been retired. She based her color scheme off of that paper. She dug through my stamp sets for a good stamp to use and found my Snow Swirled set. Below is the card she put together. Overall she did an amazing job with very little direction from me. I sense a future Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!

This is a card that she CASED off my 60 cards in 4 hours class that is coming up in November (please RSVP by November 1st!) She changed the background card from Whisper White to Real Red. She did all the measuring and cutting herself. She was getting a little frustrated with herself if the greetings were a little crooked. I had to remind her, as I do my customers, that it is a homemade card and small imperfections make it more personal.

Embrace Life Thank You Card

In my last post I had a card that was really cute but wasn't quite enough in my eyes for a thank you to our boss. Well, I created this card this weekend and I think it is perfect. The only thing I would add would be to brush the edges of the white with color. I got the idea of the layout/design from this card but I changed up the colors and theme. I just love it! I hope you enjoy it too.

Techniques used: I used two different techniques to create the flowers. First, when I stamped the image, I used a mask to cover the middle flower and stamped the other two so they looked as if they are behind. To create the mask, I stamped the flower on a piece of scrap cardstock and cut it out as detailed as possible. I always keep the masks I create right in with the stamp set for next time. The second technique used was "painting" with blender pens. I only have the markers of the In Colors so I rubbed the tip of the blender pen on the tip of the mark and "painted" the flowers. They came out beautifully with the look I was trying to achieve.

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Embrace Life, Trendy Trees
Card Stock - Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Razzleberry Lemonade DS paper,
Ink - Basic Brown; Crushed Curry, Bashful Blue, Melon Mambo markers
Accessories -White Taffita Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, Blender Pen

Halloween Birthday

A demonstrator friend of mine in Ohio celebrates her birthday on Halloween. I am sure she gets lots of Halloween birthday cards so I decided to do a fall card instead. I found this idea on a blog that I follow (Ruth's Stamping Corner) and just loved how the demonstrator punched out the pumpkin, how creative! Sometimes I find myself surrounded by such creative people and feel so small.

The pumpkin is 5 Large Ovals punched out and put together. I cut the stem by hand from a piece of scrap. (side: it is ALWAYS a good idea to hang on to scrap, there is almost always a need).

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Sincere Salutations
Card Stock - Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Always Artichoke, Whisper White, scrap of Simply Scrapin' paper in Always Artichoke.
Ink - Pumpkin Pie, Always Artichoke markers
Accessories -Large Oval Punch

Holiday Ornament

Here is one of the ornaments that I told you I had worked on over the weekend. I had found these cute flat porcelain ivory ornaments in an after the holidays sale for really cheap last year. All I had to do was change the ribbon (the one with it was terrible) and add a couple of rub-ons and it looks great! Quick and easy and it will look cute on my Stampin' Up! Christmas tree (smile).

Supplies:
Accessories - Merry & Bright and Icicle Rub-Ons; Real Red 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon

Giraffe Card

One of my best friends has a baby girl who is turning 1-year-old this week. I made this cute card for her birthday. As a 1-year-old could care less about a card, I wrote it for the parents, letting them know they are wonderful parents and they survived the first year (smile). The card turned out super cute, if I do say so myself.

On the card, I didn't have any matching brads or buttons so I created my own matching brads using the Build-A-Brad. To use this kit is very simple. First I used the 1/2" circle punch and punched out circles from my matching cardstock. Then I glued the circles to the brad base from the kit using then 2-Way Glue Pen. After letting it dry I placed the adhesive acrylic bubble on top and voila, a matching brad!

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Animal Crackers, *Small Script, *Bitty Basics
Card Stock - Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Whisper White
Ink - Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip marker
Accessories -Build-A-Brad kit, 2-way Glue pen, Demensionals, Watercolor pencils, (having the Star punch would have made things easier)
*Retired Items - Ideas for replacement: Short & Sweet or Warm Words; Seeing Stars or Under the Stars

Decor Blocks and More

What a great weekend this was! We were actually home all weekend so I got to spend many hours in my stamping room. I got my 60 cards class all planned and done. This is where we make 60 cards from some vanilla cardstock, ribbon, and the Simply Scrappin' Kit Christmas Jingle. They came out so cute! I am much happier this year than I was last year with the cards.

This weekend I also played with the Decor Elements Blocks and Decor Elements Holiday Mix that I purchased from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I purchased so much (as I loved so much) I am still working through everything! I had so much fun creating these Decor Elements and I cant wait for Christmas season so I can display them! I got my ideas right from the mini catalog and went from there.

This is just a frame I found unused in my house. A little cardstock, Decor Elements, and ribbon and Voila!

This is the front of the Decor Blocks. I first sanded the edges and painted them white. I used the mini catalog to get my ideas. I had only purchased the White and Chocolate Holiday Mix sets.

This is the back of the blocks. They really came out well and were super simple too!

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - None
Card Stock - Christmas Cocoa Specialty Designer Series Paper, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Whisper White

Sweet Centers Birthday

How was your weekend? I went with my husband and his family to Disney's Food and Wine Festival this weekend and boy was it great! The food is just absolutely incredible and there were 27 different countries represented there. We do this every year and every year I love it more!

On to my post. I created this card for a client of mine. I have a birthday club that if you join, on your birthday you get a hand made card from me and a gift certificate for 10% off your next order. Contact me today to be added to the club!

This is one of my favorite color combinations. It is called Fire and Ice with the Real Red and Tempting Turquoise together. First, use the 1-3/4" circle punch and punch through the white and blue. Then stamp the balloon basket. Tie the ribbon around the white and blue cardstock and add adhesive to the back of the c/s. Put the sweet treat cup through the hole and fill it. Then adhered the entire piece to the red c/s. Finish it off with the cute little birthday tag.

This is a great way to use the Sweat Treat cup if you do not intend the recipient to remove what is inside the cup (i.e. confetti). The card was a great deal of fun but I was still learning how to best use this set. I have since learned how to make a slider pocket so the treats can be removed without destroying the card. My Stamp-A-Stack on Oct 24th we will be making an ornament card where I will teach this technique.

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Sweet Centers, Sincere Salutations
Card Stock - Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Ink - Tempting Turquoise, Tempting Turquoise and Real Red markers
Accessories - Sweet Treat cup, 1-3/4" punch, Tag punch, 3/4" Real Red Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, Linen Thread
