Six-Sided Sunflower

I am excited to show you some fun creations with the Hexigon Punch and Six-Sided Sampler set.  Today's post and the next post show you two ideas that I saw done at convention at the 5 Projects to Increase My Sales class.  So CUTE!

Love this sunflower!

I put 5 hexigons down then stamped my stem.

Then added the last hexigon to hide the top of the stem.

I was excited to see the leaves done!  First stamp and punch a hexigon.

Then, using you snips, cut two lines and it will look like this.  Then take the diamonds as your leaves!

I love to have a dark card base but then you have to use more cardstock on the inside so you can have your saying and write a message.  Here is another way to do it.  My Whisper White was actually cut to 8" x 5" and folded in half.  Then mount it on a piece of 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Early Espresso.  Voila! A white inside card that has a dark base!  A little twist and So much fun!

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Six-Sided Sampler, Too Kind
Card Stock - So Saffron, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Soft Suede
Ink - Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Wild Wasabi
Accessories - Hexigon Punch, Snips, Dimensionals

Traveling Thank You

I CASEd this card from Kelly Ryan.  I plan on using a version of this for my Stamp-A-Stack this weekend.  I have to modify it some because Not Quite Navy is retiring and Stampin' Up! sold out of the cardstock before I could get my hands on some :(  We will miss you Not Quite Navy.

This is a great masculine card for Father's Day that is coming up or any of those birthdays for the men in our lives.  The only thing that I think needs a little explanation is the ribbon.  I used Ridinghood Red Taffeta ribbon that is retiring.  I put down a strip of Sticky Strip along the card and then worked my way across the card attaching the ribbon, bunching it as I go.  The flag and the three postage stamps are popped up with Dimensionals.  Enjoy!

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) -
Card Stock - Itty Bitty Banners, Postage Due
Ink - Not Quite Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake
Accessories - Postage Stamp Punch, Big Shot, Bitty Banner Framelits, Sponge Dauber, Sticky Strip, Ridinghood Red 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensionals, Whisper White Baker's Twine

Wisteria Daisy

This card I used for some of my Easter cards and then I left a bunch blank for last minute needs.  The Upsy Daisy set is retiring so make sure to get it fast!  I stamped the flowers once in Wisteria Wonder and then, with the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig I stamped the flowers again, just slightly lower in Elegant Eggplant.  I used the Crop-A-Dile (that is also retiring) to make a hole through the layers so that I could attach the ribbon.

Stamp Set(s) - Upsy Daisy
Card Stock - Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, DS Patterned Pack In Color 11-13
Ink - Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant
Accessories - Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, Crop-A-Dile, Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon

Wedding Card Making Day

Recently I got together with some friends to make up Wedding Invitations and matching Thank Yous.  They called it the Drink and Cut.  We had wine/beer, cut and prepped everything to put together the wedding invitations and thank yous.  It was such a great time!

They choose Lucky Limeaide and Early Espresso as they matched the colors best.   It is a wedding on the beach so they picked out a couple of shell stamps at the local store.  The cards are just PERFECT!

Easter Gifts in the Works

Sorry I haven't posted when I said I would.  I have been down sick since Monday.  I am starting to get back up an running now.  This weekend I began working on my Easter Gifts to the women in my family.  I was inspired by Shelli's gift idea and a make-n-take from Regional.

First I am going to give two eggs each.  One in Rose Red and another in Certainly Celery.  I only finished the Rose Red egg so far but the Certainly Celery is almost done.

First I used modge-podge to adhere strips of First Edition DS Paper to a foam egg.  I then used Sticky Strip and Rose Red Seam Binding around the egg and made a loop on top.  I then punch a Scallop Circle out of Rose Red.  I broke it down and separated it using a bone folder.  I adhered the flowers on top with multipurpose glue and put a pearl in the middle (total of 6).  I then used the Color Catcher and sprayed the egg with spray adhesive and dusted it with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  ( I may have gone over board).  To finish it off, I adhered a Clear bauble to the bottom.  They came out great!

Next I made a little Thank You card pack to go with the eggs.  This was a make-n-take from Regional.  It is four 3x3 thank you cards and a little holder to put them all in.  Very quick and easy!

The holder is just 7"x7" scored at 3-1/2" each direction.  Then cut the bottom two squares on the diagonal.

I plan on putting the gift in the glittery baskets that I bought at Target for $1.  Overall ave very cute gift!
