Double Slider Card Technique

This card is such a WOW and after you walk through it once or twice to get the hang of it, you will see how quick and easy it can be! Here is the front of the card.

When you pull the ribbon you expect something to pull out of the top but something comes out from the bottom too!  Hence the DOUBLE slider.

First prep the materials:  Cut a piece cardstock to 5-1/2” x 11”.  Then score it at 3-1/2”, 7”, and 10-1/2”.  Punch ½" circles as shown below.   Using any Square Punch, punch rectangles on the end section.  It doesn't have to be perfect because it will not be seen but make sure the rectangle is deeper that the half circle.  From this point forward I will be referring to the side with the half circle punches as the top and the other side the bottom.

Cut approximately 1-1/2” x 10” strip of plastic from a shopping bag.

Cut 2 pieces of white or coordinating cardstock to 3-1/4" x 5".  Here I used Bravo Burgundy.  Then I layered it with Very Vanilla cut at 3" x 4-3/4".

Okay now we are ready to put the card together.  Tape the strip of plastic bag around end piece fitting loosely inside the rectangular cuts with Sticky Strip.

Slide the part you taped to the bottom and put a piece of Sticky Strip over it.

Line up one piece of the 3-1/4” x 5” cardstock that is going to pop out the top with the top edge of the card and then lay it down so that it adheres to the Stick Strip.

Turn the card over.  On the outside of the card, place a piece of Sticky Strip at the top of the plastic bag (this is the opposite side that you taped the first piece to).

Tape the other piece of the 3-1/2” x 5” cardstock to the plastic bag strip on the outside. Make it flush with the bottom of the card on the opposite side. Because I already had it layered and stamped, I put it face down with the stamping at the bottom so that you can see the images when this piece slides out the bottom.  Test to make sure the slider works by closing the card and pulling gently in the top piece.

If you do not want the cardstock to pull out the entire distance you can adhere it again to make it stop.  Flip the card so you are looking at the inside.  Pull the sections out a little further then you want them to.  Put a piece of Sticky Strip on the bottom piece right below the plastic bag.  Slowly push the sections back in.  The Sticky Strip will stick to the bag and act as a stopper.

Attach Sticky Strip to end tab portion of card base.

Fold the card close and attach the other end being careful to make sure the slider strips are on the inside of the tab.

Decorate the front of your card.

Punch a small hole in the slider you pull and tie a piece of ribbon through it for pulling.
