Card Box

This is a great box to put cards in as a gift.  My last post with Christmas for a while I promise, but I had to finish it with a way to give cards as gifts.  You may have seen boxes on many posts lately.  This box is just for cards.  I got this from one of my Downline.

Here is a tutorial on how to assemble it.

Chose your papers.  I suggest two designs from a Design Series Pattern Pack and one solid colored sheet to match.  I used Jolly Holiday and Cherry Cobbler.

Pattern 1 – 12x12 Designer Series Paper – Makes the box
  • Score
    • One direction at 3” and 9”
    • Other direction at 5” and 7”
      • Cut along the score until you reach the other score line

Pattern 2 – 8-1/2x11” Solid Color Cardstock – Makes the lid

  • Cut to 6-3/8” x 10-3/8”
  • Score
    • Short Side at 2-1/8”x4-1/4”
    • Long Side at 2-1/8”x8-1/4”
      • Cut along the score until you reach the other score line

      • Along the outside of the previous cut, cut on an angle until you reach the point of the score line

Pattern 3 – 12x12 Designer Series Paper – Makes décor on the lid

  • Cut 3 pieces at 6”x2”

  • Cut 2 pieces at 2”x2”

Assemble the Box - Pattern 1

  • Fold up the two middle pieces and put Sticky Strip on it.
  • Cut one side of the box in 1-3/4” on each side.
  • Score the other side of the box at 1” on each side.
  • Tape the short side first.
  • Then tape the long side.

  • Tape down the scored flap

Assemble the Lid

  • Fold all the scores
  • Tape the flaps to the side
  • Tape the decorative pieces on the sides
