Emboss Resist Technique

Time is flying isn't it!  I am already doing Valentine's Day cards!  This card is simply beautiful.  I cased my own card for this one (see here).  This card uses the Emboss Resist Technique that I am going to teach you today!

Here is whatcha do:

First Emboss
Rub embossing buddy over cardstock.

Ink up your stamp with Versamark ink, then stamp onto cardstock.

Sprinkle clear embossing powder over image, and tap off excess.

If you look closely you can see the hearts.

Use a heat tool to set image.

Then Resist
Choose one or more colors of classic ink.  Ink up a sponge dauber and use a light hand and a swirling motion to ink the embossed image.  Continue sponging till the desired area is filled with color.

You can even stamp over it.

Using a paper towel or tissue, rub the embossed area till the ink is gone.  Stamps will appear to be behind the embossed image.

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Hearts a Flutter, Elements of Style
Card Stock - Raspberry Ripple, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Ink - Raspberry Ripple, Versamark
Accessories - Embossing Buddy, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Sponge Dauber

Thank You Honey Bee

I cased this card as my second swap for Leadership.  I changed it to a bee because, well, I'm a bee!

To do the circles I cut the Whisper White, So Saffron, and More Mustard at 2" x 2" and the Soft Suede at 2-1/4 x 2-1/4.  I stamped on the Whisper White.  I then punched the So Saffron with the 1" Circle Punch and the More Mustard with the 1-1/4 Circle Punch and layered them over the white.  I measured out the middle and punched the Soft Suede with the 1-3/8" Circle Punch right in the middle.  I layered it on top of the others with Dimensionals.  It can be a little tricky to get the circle in the middle but it only matters with the top one.

Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Collage Curios, Perfectly Penned
Card Stock - Whisper White, So Saffron, Soft Suede, More Mustard
Ink - So Saffron, Soft Suede
Accessories - Big Shot, Honeycomb Embossing Folder, 1" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Dimensionals

Sale-A-Bration Celebration

I spent the last three days at Leadership and had a WONDERFUL time!  I learned so much, saw so much, and met so many wonderful people!  I will be posting some of these things over the next couple of days but right now I wanted to post about the event that followed Leadership: Sale-A-Bration Celebration.

This event was in the evening after Leadership closed.  It was open to all Demonstrators AND Customers for FREE.  It was targeted to Florida demos and customers because, well, they were the closest.  I attended the event with one of my downline that came up just for this event and my husband because he wanted to see what a Stampin' Up! event was like.  And may I just say, if you have never attended a Stampin' Up! event, do so as so as you can because they are AMAZING!

The evening was filled with stamping presentations, giveaways, and MANY great incentives for the customers in the audience.  All the great presenters that Demonstrators get to see at the events presented here too!  The energy and excitement was just fantastic!  I thought this was SO GREAT that Stampin’ Up! did this and I really hope they continue to offer this “taste” whenever they can!

There was some overlap of projects to what was shown at Leadership but there was new as well.  Check out some of the projects we got to see created or got tips on how easy they are to make ourselves.  (Pardon the pictures as they were taken off of a big screen or from the flyer.)  Hope you enjoy!
