My new job is going great! I am slowly getting into a routine so posts should even out soon. I promise to post at least once a week though!
Today I am featuring to new items in the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog. I am so excited about this book! It is AWESOME and we are in the count down until go live! I used a new punch, a Scallop Circle that is larger that the original (2- 1/8"). It works great with layering! I also used a new single stamp Homemade. There is so much potential for the stamp! Very Exciting!
With these two items I made a simple tag to go on a gift that I made for a friend. I stamped the image twice, once on Whisper White and once on Cherry Cobbler (one of the new great colors!) with Early Espresso (another great new color!). I used the 1-3/4" Circle Punch to punch out the center of the Whisper White then attached it to the Cherry Cobbler with Dimensionals. Before doing that attach a piece of Linen Thread so to be able to hook your tag to your package.
Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Homemade (new)
Card Stock - Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler (new)
Ink - Early Espresso (new)
Accessories - 2-1/8" Scallop Circle Punch (new), 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Linen Thread, Dimensionals

4th of July Birthday
Another idea from the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Community Website (I have spent a lot of time here lately because my google reader had gotten out of hand and it scares me :D). It uses a technique that I just love but always forget to use, Rock n' Roll.
To get the dual colors on a stamp is very easy.
1. Gather your materials :)
2. Color in the center of the stamp with a marker of the lighter color.
3. Roll the stamp on the ink pad of the darker color making sure not to touch the middle of the stamp to the pad.
4. Stamp the image
5. How Fun!
The top layers of Cardstock are "popped" up from the card with Dimensionals. I keep looking at this card trying to figure out if it stands alone or if it needs something like a punched design with a saying on in on the middle of the top rectangle. What do you thing? Would you add something else?
Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - July Fourth, Sincere Salutations
Card Stock - Real Red, Brilliant Blue (retired), Whisper White
Ink - Real Red (marker and pad), Brilliant Blue (retired)
Accessories - Real Red, 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals

4th of July
Well I start a new day job tomorrow. Though I will miss all this free time I have had it will be nice to get back to a structured routine. Strangely, I get more done when I have less time to do it. Perhaps I will get back to a better schedule of posting too :) Another great thing about tomorrow is that my husband comes home. I have missed him terribly and dont like being away from him. Can you tell we are still newlyweds?
Today I have a card using the July Fourth Set from the Summer Mini Catalog. I just fell in love with this set and its versatility. I got the idea for this set from the Stampin' Up! Community Website. In the card I used the retired Brilliant Blue; however, it would look really good with the new Pacific Point as well.
Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - July Fourth
Card Stock - Real Red, Brilliant Blue (retired), Whisper White
Ink - Real Red, Brilliant Blue (retired)
Accessories -5/8" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, Big Shot, Polka-Dot Embossing Folder

Together Forever
Well, I put my husband on a plane to Las Vegas last night for the World Tea Expo (WTE) that is this weekend. My husband and I are HUGE tea drinkers. We brew loose tea constantly. My husband designed and maintains the website for a tea import company (the tea they sell is directly imported from the tea gardens). You have to check it out http://www.teasetc.com/ The tea is always great quality teas at great prices. This weekend is the WTE and TeasEtc has a booth there. My husband goes to help set up and tear down. During the expo he works at the brewing station in the booth so he basically brews tea all day and talks and drinks tea with people.
So I am all alone this weekend. The good news is my preorder of stamp sets and new colors from the new catalog arrive tomorrow along with a copy of the new catalog! I can not wait!!! I should have posts starting this weekend of cards made from materials in the new catalog and summer mini!
In the mean time, my last retiring tribute. Like my last card, I got this idea from a demonstrator on the Demonstrator Community Website. This uses the Together Forever Stamp Set, Forever Flowers Wheel, Brocade Blue Ink, and Blush Blossom Cardstock that are retiring. The card is very simple and I feel needs no explanation. Enjoy!
Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Together Forever (retiring), Sincere Salutations, Forever Flowers Wheel (retiring)
Card Stock - Blush Blossom (retiring), Night of Navy, Whisper White
Ink - Brocade Blue (retiring)
Accessories -1/4" Night of Navy Grosgrain Ribbon, Ticket Corner Punch

Very Thankful
Another tribute to the retiring list. I came across this adorable, simple card on a site that is exclusively for Demonstrators. That is another wonderful bonus of being a Demonstrator, the access to ideas and techniques, both through an online community of demonstrators and a monthly Stampin' Success Magazine published by Stampin' Up! Right now you can join the Stampin' Up! family for only $99! Click to to learn more. You can sign up online and it is quick and simple! Just select Join Now and the password is NicoleBStampin.
This card was very simple but without being able to see it first hand the bottom can look tricky. The card base is Cameo Coral. I then placed the Whisper White as a layer. Before adhering it I did two things: I punched the bottom with the Scallop Edge Punch and I tied the ribbon around the top. I then layered a very thin strip of Cameo Coral above the punched edge and used the White Gel Pen to add the pattern. I stamped my little turtle in Bravo Burgundy to match my ribbon.
Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Very Thankful (retiring)
Card Stock - Whisper White, Cameo Coral (retiring)
Ink - Bravo Burgundy
Accessories -5/8" Bravo Burgundy Grosgrain Ribbon (retiring), Scallop Edge Punch (from SAB), White Gel Pen

Find of the Day
No project today but I just had to share my find yesterday. I was wandering through Target (because that is just fun to do) and half looking for better ways to organize all the stuff in my stamp room. If you remember I just recently reorganized my stamp room but still was working on my stamp sets. (see post here). I have seen many ways to store the new clear mount stamps; however, they all sit on the floor or table (which I have no space for) or they are just too big. But today I found the perfect solution. It is a wall mount DVD/CD storage. It has four parts and each part holds 15 DVDs.
These are two of the racks. Very simple and dont take up a lot of space. You can hang them where ever and only hang what you need! Love It. And the best part is they are only $10.00! (You can find them in the DVD/CD section).
So great and right next to my table, so very convenient!

Animal Cracker Bunny
I am honoring retiring stamp sets this week. Saw this on Split Coast Stampers and thought it would be perfect. Split Coast Stampers is a great place to get ideas when you are stuck. Many wonderful artists share their work there.
The card is 4" x 4" and the white is 3" x 3". I selected two flowers and a rhinestone brad from the Pretties Kit. I brushed Pixie Pink on the edge of the white then decided to put it on Pixie Pink, next time I wont brush the pink. Otherwise it came out cute.
Supplies:
Stamp Set(s) - Animal Crackers (retiring)
Card Stock - Whisper White, Pixie Pink (retiring)
Ink - Staz-On Black, Pixie Pink (retiring), Only Orange (retiring)
Accessories - Pretties Kit (retiring), Dimensionals, Paper-Piercing Tool, Mat Pack
